" The PRDA patch on my sleeve
signifies me as a member in good standing of the
Polish Racing Drivers of America. Oscar Kovaleski,
proprietor of Auto World in Scranton PA. and one of
the great characters in American motorsport, was
president of the “club”. For a two dollar fee one
was granted a life membership and became entitled
to all “verbal brickbats” and other benefits of being
a polish racing driver. There were four categories
of membership. I belonged to category three, that
is a non-polish racing driver. Category four was
non-polish, non-racing driver. Being Polish took
precedent over being a racing driver. Oscar was
famous for his sense of humor and would
occasionally sponsor events such as “fastest
mechanic on a creeper” on the pit lane during the
lunch break."

Schade dass es diesen Humor heutzutage wohl nicht mehr in der Rennszene gibt.
Gerade in der Oldie-Rennszene wäre dafür ja wohl genügend Platz...
